Walking the Dogs

A friend picked me up this morning and we went to a beautiful park here in Knoxville to walk his two dogs. It was a beautiful morning, and beautiful scenery. I have a couple of pics below that I shot with my iPhone.

Afterward I came home, ate lunch, and then went over to Walmart to pick up the fixin’s for a big pot of taco soup. I made the soup went I got back to the room, but unfortunately I had developed a migraine in the meantime. I took a pill for it, and ended up taking about a 3 hour nap. So I guess I’ll stay up a tad later than usual tonight, since I’m not tired.

I’m REALLY enjoying the Everest video podcast that I mentioned a couple of posts ago. I’ve been downloading the episodes one after the other ever since last night. I’m already on episode 35. I believe there are a total of 76. It’s very interesting that a large part of going to Everest is not so much doing the actual climb, but instead it is “life in basecamp”. You have to spend weeks in basecamp just to get acclimatized to the altitude before you can even consider making the climb. So far, that has been mostly what this podcast has been about… life in basecamp.

Next week I only have to work 4 days, and then I go home for a long(ish) Easter weekend at home. It will have been 3 weeks away from home for me, so I’m extremely excited about getting to see my wife and family again.

Yesterday (Saturday) went very well. I spent a good part of the day with my friend from work (Gerry). We went to the gym in the morning, and then went over to another friends house for the afternoon. When I got back, I spent the evening watching Everest videos. So the day was enjoyable and went by quickly. I wish I could say the same for Sunday (today), but it wasn’t to be. The headache messed me up a little bit. If I hadn’t had the headache, I would’ve went over to Gerry’s house and hung out.

Here’s the pics from when Gerry and I walked the dogs this morning (click on pics for full size)…
